Fees
As a general rule, we charge $110 for the first hour and $190 an hour thereafter. Initial consultations usually take up to one hour. For appropriate cases we can make house calls or come to the nursing home or hospital.
For auto accidents, wrongful death, and personal injury cases, the initial consultation is free and usually these cases are handled on a contingent fee basis so that we get paid when the client gets paid. For simple wills, powers of attorney, living wills, and health care powers of attorney, we have flat fees.
For more sophisticated work, such as Medicaid/nursing home planning, living trusts, planning to address federal estate taxes, divorce/dissolution/family law, and business matters, these are handled on an hourly basis with a retainer payable up front.
Our fees for Guardianship and probate matters are regulated, and must be approved, by the local court handling the case.
